§ 4-10. Redemption procedure.

  • (a)

    When any animal has been impounded at the animal shelter, notice thereof shall be given to the owner. The owner shall be entitled to resume possession of the animal, except as already provided for certain animals, upon compliance with the provisions of this chapter and the payment of any shelter and administrative fees incurred.

    (1)

    The fees shall be as follows:

    a.

    County administrative fees: $35.00; and

    b.

    Shelter fees: as set by the board of commissioners from time to time and posted at the kennel.

    (2)

    The funds are to be paid to the county.

    (b)

    Unvaccinated dogs and cats must be vaccinated for rabies and the costs paid by the owner before being released. Dogs or cats impounded more than once within a year-period shall be neutered and any cost paid by the owner before being released.
